FJWW Hiring Workplace Justice Fellow

We are currently seeking a fellow with 0-2 years of post-law school experience in litigation and/or clerkship(s) to serve a one-year term as a Workplace Justice Fellow, beginning in the summer or early fall of 2025, with flexibility on the start date.

FJWW specializes in public interest litigation on behalf of workers, retirees, unions, and people with disabilities, as well as corporate accountability and policy strategies for labor unions. Our core practice areas are employee benefits (ERISA), wage and hour, civil rights, employment, election, and health care law.  We have successfully represented individuals, unions, non-profits, and classes of workers against some of the largest corporate and government defendants in the country, going to trial when necessary. Our work for unions is done in support of innovative campaigns to advance broad social justice issues, especially in the health care industry.

Our small-firm work environment prioritizes collaboration and mutual respect, as well as shared commitments to economic and social justice. We believe in the importance of professional development, including mentorship, engaging with community and professional groups, and participating in formal continuing education. We value diversity in the communities we work in, and we actively seek to reflect that diversity in our organization. We seek to foster a friendly and collegial environment while maintaining the most rigorous professional standards and zealous advocacy for our clients. We also strive to be a place where attorneys and staff can pursue their lives and interests outside of work.

Candidates should be licensed to practice in California or expect to be awaiting California bar exam results, as well as have excellent research and writing skills, a strong academic record, and a demonstrated commitment to workers’ rights or other forms of community and public service. Fluency in Spanish is a plus, as are experience or expertise with statistical or other quantitative analysis and familiarity with financial instruments, the financial services industry, labor unions, and/or the health care industry.

The salary is $95,000-$105,000 depending on experience. We offer excellent health benefits and long-term disability coverage as well as ample paid vacation and sick leave.  Fellows are provided a CLE budget to cover conferences and trainings.

To apply, please submit a cover letter, 5-10 page writing sample, resume, and law school transcript to hiring@feinbergjackson.com by May 16, 2025.
