On January 26, 2018, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California certified three classes of janitorial workers employed by defendants ABM Industries, Inc. and related corporate entities. The workers in the certified classes are Cleaners who were not reimbursed for work-related use of their personal cell phones, in violation of California Labor Code § 2802 and the California Unfair Competition Law. Thousands of Cleaners employed by ABM in California since 2010 are members of one or more of the three certified classes.
